so for the past last 2 months, i’ve been immersed in a life change that has included packing, leaving and boxing up 6 years of life in vancouver to embark on a move that has taken me to the wonderfully dynamic, gritty and heat-wave laden-summer city of toronto. perhaps the most difficult thing with any life change, is the feeling that you are turning away from those you love, the impending loss of comfort and stability and simply not knowing. transitions like this have always been difficult and challenging for me, but in the end, they are always the most rewarding and gratifying experiences. this is the time for me to explore my own abilites and foster my own personal growth.
i’ve been in toronto almost a month now and i’ve battled the downs of missing loved ones and fearing the unknown, and i’ve also lived up the highs of experiencing muskoka cottage country the first weekend i arrived, 5 girls and a dog, floaties on the lake, sangria in the bottles…exploring streets and getting lost, balmy humid summer days with tall cans in trinity bellwoods park and just reveling in the moment, feeling like my life is beginning and enjoying what the city has to offer.
i have been gearing up new work for the one of a kind holiday show taking place nov 24-december 4th, 2011 and i will be posting new work and merchandise on the site.
